Indoor unit for Samsung EHS TDM Plus systems

The AE071ANMPEH/EU belongs to the Samsung EHS TDM Plus range, a system designed to combine air conditioning and hydronic climate control within a single solution. This ducted unit corresponds to the air-to-air part of the system and allows rooms to be conditioned directly through air delivered via a duct network.

In a properly configured TDM Plus installation, the system can combine air indoor units with a hydraulic circuit intended for underfloor heating, fan coils, compatible radiators or domestic hot water production, depending on the other installed components.

7.1 kW cooling and 8.0 kW heating

The unit provides a nominal cooling capacity of 7.1 kW, equivalent to approximately 24,200 BTU/h, and a nominal heating capacity of 8.0 kW.

These performance levels make it suitable for medium to large rooms in residential or commercial projects, provided the required capacity has been previously calculated taking into account surface area, insulation, orientation, internal loads and climatic conditions.

Medium static pressure ducted unit

Samsung defines this model as a medium static pressure ducted unit. This configuration allows it to overcome higher pressure losses than a low static pressure unit and provides greater flexibility when designing the supply and return duct network.

The external static pressure can be adjusted between 0 and 147.10 Pa, with a standard value of approximately 29.42 Pa. This makes it easier to adapt fan operation to the actual resistance of filters, grilles and ducts in the installation.

Auto ESP to automatically adjust static pressure

The Auto ESP function automatically optimizes the external static pressure and airflow of the unit. Samsung developed this function to simplify commissioning of medium static pressure ducted units and adapt the fan to the characteristics of the installation.

Correct pressure adjustment helps maintain adequate airflow at the different grilles and avoids both insufficient flow and excessive air speed that could generate noise.

In addition to automatic adjustment, the external static pressure can be configured using a compatible controller.

Airflow of up to 21 m³/min

The unit incorporates a Sirocco type fan with three main operating levels. Samsung declares the following airflow rates:

• Low speed: 13 m³/min.

The combination of airflow and static pressure makes it possible to distribute conditioned air through different branches and grilles, provided the duct network is correctly sized and balanced.

The Samsung AE071ANMPEH/EU allows the air return to be configured from the bottom or from the rear of the unit. This dual option provides flexibility during installation, especially when the available space above the false ceiling is limited.

The installer can select the most suitable configuration according to the unit position, the location of the return grilles and the design of the duct network.

Only 250 mm high

The unit has a height of just 250 mm, which makes it easier to install in false ceilings with limited installation space. Its overall dimensions are:

Quiet operation from 27 dB(A)

Samsung specifies sound pressure levels of 36 / 32 / 27 dB(A) for this indoor unit at high, medium and low speed respectively.

The minimum level of 27 dB(A) makes it suitable for spaces where acoustic comfort is important, such as homes, bedrooms, offices, meeting rooms or hotel rooms, provided the duct network and grilles are correctly designed.

Samsung declares a sound power of 57 dB(A).

Integrated drain pump

The AE071ANMPEH/EU includes a standard drain pump to facilitate the removal of condensate water produced during cooling operation.

The condensate outlet uses a VP25 connection, with approximately 25 mm outer diameter and 20 mm inner diameter. The drain pipe must be installed in accordance with the slopes, heights and conditions indicated by Samsung.

R410A refrigerant

This unit is designed to operate within Samsung EHS TDM Plus systems that use R410A refrigerant. The refrigerant circulates between the different units in the system through the corresponding refrigerant connections.

The AE071ANMPEH/EU incorporates an EEV electronic expansion valve, responsible for regulating the refrigerant flow through the indoor heat exchanger according to operating conditions.

Samsung specifies the following pipe sizes for this unit:

The indoor unit uses a single-phase 220-240 V, 50 Hz power supply. Samsung declares a nominal electrical consumption of 110 W in both cooling and heating, mainly associated with the operation of the fan and the unit’s internal components.

The electrical power required to produce cooling or heating depends mainly on the outdoor unit of the system and should not be confused with this internal 110 W consumption of the air conditioning installation.

Optional SPi ionization kit

Samsung allows this unit to be complemented with an optional SPi plasma ionizer kit. This accessory is designed to improve indoor air treatment through the generation of active ions.

The SPi kit is not included as standard with reference AE071ANMPEH/EU and must be purchased and installed separately when the project requires this function.

Hidden ducted installation

Ducted air conditioning makes it possible to distribute conditioned air to several zones or supply points while keeping the unit completely hidden. Grilles and diffusers can be selected according to the aesthetics and air distribution needs of the project.

Medium static pressure ducted unit for EHS TDM Plus systems

The Samsung AE071ANMPEH/EU combines 7.1 kW of nominal cooling capacity, 8.0 kW of heating capacity, a maximum airflow of 21 m³/min and up to 147.1 Pa of static pressure in a compact format only 250 mm high.

The Auto ESP function makes it easier to adapt to the duct network, while the bottom or rear air inlet provides flexibility during installation. In addition, it offers a minimum sound level of 27 dB(A), an integrated condensate pump and the option of adding the optional SPi kit.

This reference corresponds only to the ducted indoor unit. To form a complete system, it must be combined with a compatible Samsung EHS TDM Plus outdoor unit, as well as the controls, piping, ducts, grilles and other accessories required for installation.
