The Resideo V4043H1114/U motorized zone valve is a 2-way valve with 3/4" female threaded connection designed to automatically control water flow in heating and cooling systems. It features a 230 V AC electric actuator, on/off operation, spring return, and an SPDT auxiliary contact that allows it to coordinate operation with other system components.
This model in the V4043H series has a Kvs value of 6.9 and a maximum closing differential pressure of 0.55 bar. Its normally closed configuration means the valve automatically returns to the closed position when electrical power is removed.
The Resideo V4043H is designed to regulate flow to different hydraulic circuits automatically. It can be used, for example, to open or close the water flow to a specific heating zone according to the demand signaled by a thermostat or control system.
Resideo specifies this range for use in both domestic installations and small commercial heating and cooling applications where independent control of hot or cold water flow is required.
The valve operates using a two-position electric actuator. When power is applied, the motor moves the internal mechanism to open the water flow. When voltage is removed, a spring return automatically moves the valve to the closed position.
This normally closed configuration ensures the circuit is shut off when there is no demand or in the event of a power failure. The official datasheet explicitly identifies this model as a spring-return-to-close valve.
The V4043H1114/U reference includes 3/4" BSPP female threaded connections, equivalent to a DN20 nominal diameter. Its hydraulic capacity is defined by a Kvs of 6.9, while the maximum allowable differential pressure to ensure closing is 0.55 bar.
These specifications make it suitable for zoned heating circuits, radiator branches, and other hydronic applications operating within the hydraulic limits established by Resideo.
The actuator operates with a nominal supply of 230 V AC at 50 Hz. In addition, the V4043H version includes an SPDT end-switch auxiliary contact, i.e. a single-pole changeover contact that can be used to transmit the valve status to other system components.
This auxiliary contact makes it possible, for example, to integrate the valve into control schemes where opening a zone must be coordinated with the activation of a boiler, circulation pump, or another installation component. The official documentation specifies an auxiliary contact rating of 2.2 A at 220-240 V AC, 50 Hz.
The valve includes a manual opening lever. Under normal conditions it should remain in automatic mode, although it can be moved to the manual open position for certain operations such as filling, draining, or commissioning the system.
Resideo indicates that, with the lever in manual position, the auxiliary contact remains unactuated until power is restored.
The hydraulic body is made of brass, as is the seat. The stem is stainless steel, the shut-off ball uses NBR, and the seals are EPDM, materials selected to operate in hydraulic circuits within the conditions specified by the manufacturer.
The actuator cover and base are metallic, providing protection for the drive assembly and allowing the valve to be installed in hydraulic manifolds, plant rooms, and compact heating circuits.
The V4043H1114/U can operate with fluids at temperatures between 5 and 88 °C. Its maximum static pressure is approximately 8.6 bar, while the maximum closing differential pressure for this 3/4" version is 0.55 bar.
These limits must be respected during system sizing to ensure correct operation and an adequate service life for the valve.
The nominal opening time indicated by Resideo for this reference is approximately 15 seconds. The system is designed for cyclic operation, opening and closing the circuit according to the control system commands.
The specified electrical consumption for the actuator is 9.6 VA, with an approximate current of 0.04 A.
One of the design advantages of this series is the ability to remove or replace the complete motorized head without disconnecting the valve body from the pipes or draining the circuit. The motor can also be replaced while keeping the hydraulic body installed.
This solution simplifies maintenance tasks and reduces the intervention required when only the electrical mechanism needs to be serviced.
The valve can be mounted in different positions, but Resideo specifies that the motorized head must not be positioned below the horizontal level of the pipe. The flow direction indicated by the arrow engraved on the brass body must also be respected.
During installation, the head must not be used as a support point for tightening the connections. The manufacturer recommends holding the brass body directly to avoid stress on the actuator.
The Resideo V4043H1114/U combines a 3/4" connection, Kvs 6.9, 230 V operation, automatic spring return, and SPDT auxiliary contact to provide a compact hydraulic control solution. Its normally closed operation allows automatic management of water flow in each zone according to system demand.
Its brass body, manual override capability, and replaceable head without disturbing the hydraulic connections make both installation and maintenance easier. To ensure correct operation, the flow direction, mounting positions, and pressure and temperature limits defined by Resideo must be respected.
