The Resideo VC6613MH6000/U motorized zone valve is a hydronic 3-way valve with 3/4" BSPP female threaded connections, designed to automatically divert water flow between two circuits in heating and cooling systems. It includes a 230 V electric actuator, ON/OFF control via a 3-wire SPDT signal and an auxiliary contact, offering a compact solution for residential installations and small commercial applications.
The valve operates with an AB-A / AB-B hydraulic configuration and is designed to withstand a maximum static pressure of 20 bar and a maximum differential pressure of 4 bar. The actuator performs the opening or closing movement in approximately 7 seconds at 50 Hz, providing a fast response to control system commands.
The Resideo VC6613MH6000/U uses a three-way configuration with one common AB inlet and two outlets A and B. The actuator moves the internal cartridge to direct flow between AB-A or AB-B according to the signal received from the control system.
When the stem moves downward, port B closes and water flows between AB and A. With the stem in the upper position, flow is established between AB and B. This arrangement allows the valve to divert water between two different hydronic circuits.
The VC6613 series is designed for ON/OFF control via a 3-wire SPDT signal. The motor receives power to move in both directions, so it does not use conventional spring return operation.
When the controller commands a circuit change, the actuator moves the cartridge to the corresponding position. Once the end position is reached, the internal logic stops the motor, so electrical consumption occurs mainly during valve movement.
If the power supply is interrupted, the valve remains in its current position. When voltage returns, it responds again to the command received from the controller.
The VC6613MH6000/U reference uses an actuator designed for a supply voltage of 200 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, commonly marketed as a 230 V version. This makes it easy to integrate into heating and HVAC installations with control circuits powered directly from mains voltage.
The actuator nominal consumption is approximately 4 VA while changing position.
The valve actuator provides fast operation. Resideo specifies a nominal time of approximately 7 seconds at 50 Hz. At 60 Hz, the movement can be approximately 20% faster.
This actuation speed helps deliver an agile response in zoned heating and cooling systems when thermal demand changes.
The VC6613M version includes an SPDT auxiliary contact that allows the valve position to be integrated with other system components. This contact can be used to transmit a position signal or coordinate operation with pumps, boilers, or other control elements.
The technical documentation for the series specifies an auxiliary contact rating of 1 A at 250 V AC, 50/60 Hz, with a minimum load of 0.05 A at 24 V DC.
The valve is designed to operate with a maximum static pressure of 20 bar. The maximum allowable differential pressure between connections is 4 bar, which allows integration into a wide range of hydronic circuits within the limits indicated by Resideo.
The balanced cartridge construction reduces the influence of differential pressure on the closing mechanism, promoting stable operation under the specified service conditions.
The VC series can operate with hot water, cold water, and water-glycol mixtures. The current European Resideo datasheet specifies a maximum glycol concentration of 50%, with water quality in accordance with the requirements indicated for hydronic installations.
The normal fluid operating temperature is between 1 and 95 °C. The manufacturer’s documentation also allows short-duration peaks of up to 120 °C under the specified conditions.
The valve hydraulic body is made of brass. The stem assembly uses stainless steel and the cartridge incorporates high-strength technical materials, while the seals and sealing elements are made of EPDM.
All major moving and sealing elements are grouped in the internal cartridge, a design that simplifies maintenance and reduces the number of moving components housed directly in the valve body.
The actuator can be removed from the hydraulic body without first draining the entire system. This feature makes it possible to replace the motor or actuator assembly while keeping the valve body and hydraulic cartridge installed.
If the issue is in the cartridge itself or there is a hydraulic leak, the circuit must be isolated or drained according to the manufacturer’s service instructions before working on the internal assembly.
Resideo VC hydronic valves use progressive internal movement designed to provide quiet operation when the installation is correctly sized.
Excessive water velocity or insufficient hydraulic pressure in systems operating at elevated temperatures can generate noise in the piping, so the installation’s sizing and hydraulic balancing criteria must be respected.
The Resideo VC6613MH6000/U valve can be used in different hydronic installations where water must be automatically diverted between two circuits:
According to the VC series datasheet, the 3-way body with 3/4" BSPP connection has compact dimensions that make installation easier where available space is limited.
The Resideo VC6613MH6000/U automates water diversion between two branches using a compact 3-way valve and a fast-response electric actuator. The combination of 3/4" female connections, 3-wire SPDT control, 230 V supply, 20 bar maximum pressure, and approximately 7-second operation makes it easy to integrate into zoned heating and cooling systems.
For correct operation, the AB-A-B hydraulic scheme, electrical wiring, pressure and temperature limits, and the installation and maintenance instructions specified by Resideo must be observed.
