The Resideo D05FS-1/2A pressure reducing valve is designed to protect potable water installations against excessive pressure from the supply network. This model features 1/2" threaded connections, nominal diameter DN15 and a Kvs value of 3.0 m³/h, offering a compact solution for stabilizing pressure in domestic installations and, within its operating conditions, also in commercial and industrial applications.
Its balanced seat system makes it possible to keep the outlet pressure practically constant even when significant variations occur in inlet pressure. The downstream pressure can be adjusted between 1.5 and 6 bar, and the valve is supplied factory preset to 3 bar, making commissioning easier.
The function of the Resideo D05FS is to reduce a high inlet pressure to a level suitable for the downstream installation. This helps protect pipes, taps, valves, appliances and other components from the effects of excessive pressure.
In addition to protecting the installation, maintaining a lower and more stable operating pressure can help reduce water consumption and minimize flow noise. These features are especially useful in buildings or homes where the available network pressure is higher than needed or fluctuates frequently.
The D05FS uses a spring- and diaphragm-operated regulating system. When consumption causes a drop in downstream pressure, the spring force opens the valve until balance with the diaphragm is restored and the set pressure is reached again.
Thanks to the balanced inlet pressure design, variations in supply pressure have minimal influence on the regulated downstream value. In this way, the valve maintains a stable outlet pressure within the operating conditions specified by Resideo.
The outlet pressure can be adjusted between 1.5 and 6 bar using the adjustment wheel located at the top. A graduated scale allows the selected value to be read directly on the valve, simplifying adjustment during commissioning.
The model is supplied preset to 3 bar. This value can later be modified to suit the requirements of each installation, always within the range authorized by the manufacturer.
The maximum permissible inlet pressure is 25 bar, and Resideo specifies a minimum pressure drop of 1 bar for the operation of the pressure reducer.
The D05FS-1/2A reference corresponds to the smallest diameter version in this range, with DN15 nominal size and 1/2" threaded fittings. The A version is supplied with a set of external threaded connections at the inlet and outlet, making installation and later removal of the valve easier.
For this size, the manufacturer specifies a Kvs value of 3.0 m³/h, a parameter that represents the hydraulic capacity of the valve under standardized conditions.
The body of the pressure reducer is made of dezincification-resistant brass, while the threaded fittings of the A version are also made of brass. This construction is especially suited to continuous use in potable water supply installations.
The regulating assembly includes a cartridge made of high-quality synthetic material, EPDM diaphragm, EPDM seals and a steel regulating spring. The spring remains separated from the potable water during operation.
Resideo specifies that the materials used comply with UBA requirements. The range also has ACS and DVGW certification.
The valve’s internal cartridge can be fully replaced. This feature simplifies maintenance tasks and makes it possible to renew the main regulating components without having to replace the entire pressure reducer body.
The serviceability of the cartridge helps preserve the existing installation and facilitates the periodic interventions recommended for this type of hydraulic component.
The D05FS includes a graduated scale that makes it easy to check the selected pressure value. It also has a connection prepared for installing a pressure gauge, allowing the actual pressure of the downstream circuit to be checked directly.
The pressure gauge is not included with the valve and can be added as an accessory when a direct and accurate reading of the operating pressure is required.
In applications compliant with EN 1567, Resideo specifies a maximum medium temperature of 30 °C. The valve can handle water temperatures up to 70 °C when the maximum pressure is limited to 10 bar.
These conditions must be respected when sizing the installation, especially when the valve is to be used in circuits where the water temperature may exceed the usual values of a cold-water network.
The Resideo D05FS pressure reducing valve can be installed in horizontal or vertical position. In the case of vertical installation, the spring housing and adjustment wheel must face upwards.
The manufacturer recommends installing shut-off valves in the system and placing the pressure reducer in an easily accessible location, protected against frost and allowing adjustment, reading and maintenance operations to be carried out.
To ensure proper operation, it is also recommended to install a filter upstream of the pressure reducing valve, preventing particles in the water from affecting the seat or internal mechanism.
Resideo specifies the installation of a straight pipe section of at least 5 times the nominal diameter after the valve, in accordance with EN 806-2. For the 1/2" version, the manufacturer also indicates a minimum wall distance of 55 mm measured from the pipe axis.
The installation must be carried out respecting the flow direction indicated on the valve body and leaving enough space to access the adjustment knob, the internal cartridge and the connection intended for the pressure gauge.
The Resideo D05FS-1/2A combines a compact format with adjustable pressure regulation, balanced seat design and components suitable for potable water installations. Its 1/2" connection, DN15 diameter and Kvs 3.0 m³/h make it especially suitable for installations where pressure needs to be reduced and stabilized before supplying the various consumption points.
The graduated scale, the possibility of adding a pressure gauge and the replaceable internal cartridge make both commissioning and subsequent maintenance easier. To ensure correct and long-lasting operation, the pressure, temperature, orientation and maintenance conditions indicated by Resideo must be respected.
