The Resideo D05FS-3/4A pressure reducing valve is designed to reduce and stabilize pressure in potable water systems, protecting pipes, fittings, and equipment from excessive mains pressure. This version features 3/4" threaded connections, nominal diameter DN20, and a Kvs value of 3.5 m³/h, making it suitable for domestic installations and, within its specifications, also for commercial and industrial applications.
The D05FS uses a balanced seat system that helps maintain a constant outlet pressure even when significant inlet pressure variations occur. It supports up to 25 bar upstream pressure and allows outlet adjustment between 1.5 and 6 bar, with a factory preset of 3 bar.
The function of the Resideo D05FS is to reduce a high supply pressure to a lower, stable value for the downstream installation. In this way, it helps prevent damage caused by overpressure and helps protect the various components connected to the water network.
A reduced and constant working pressure can also help reduce water consumption and minimize hydraulic noise in pipes, valves, and fittings.
The valve operates using a compensation system between a diaphragm and a regulating spring. When downstream pressure drops due to consumption, the spring opens the valve until the selected value is restored.
Inlet pressure does not directly affect the opening or closing of the mechanism, so mains fluctuations have a reduced influence on the regulated outlet pressure.
The outlet pressure can be adjusted between 1.5 and 6 bar using the adjustment wheel located at the top. The integrated graduated scale makes the selected value easy to read and simplifies commissioning of the installation.
The valve is supplied pre-set to 3 bar. This value can later be changed to suit the needs of the installation, always within the range specified by Resideo.
The D05FS-3/4A reference corresponds to the DN20 version with 3/4" connections. The A version includes external threaded fittings at the inlet and outlet, making installation and removal of the pressure reducing valve easier during installation or maintenance work.
For this size, Resideo specifies a Kvs of 3.5 m³/h. This value helps determine the hydraulic capacity of the valve and should be considered together with the required flow rate and available pressure loss when sizing the installation.
The valve body is made of dezincification-resistant brass. The fittings on the A version are also made of brass, while the internal cartridge is made of high-quality synthetic material.
The assembly includes an EPDM diaphragm, EPDM seals, and a steel regulating spring. The spring is kept separate from the potable water during operation.
The regulating cartridge can be fully replaced, which simplifies maintenance operations and allows the internal functional components to be renewed without replacing the entire installed body.
This design simplifies periodic servicing and helps maintain the valve throughout its service life.
The body has a pressure gauge connection, allowing the regulated downstream pressure to be checked directly. The pressure gauge is not included and can be selected as an accessory depending on the required pressure range.
The combination of the optional pressure gauge and the integrated adjustment scale makes both initial setup and later operating pressure checks easier.
For applications according to EN 1567, Resideo specifies a maximum medium temperature of 30 °C. The valve can handle temperatures of up to 70 °C when the maximum pressure is limited to 10 bar.
The manufacturer’s specified ambient operating temperature is between 5 and 55 °C, in a clean, dry environment protected against frost.
The D05FS can be installed in both horizontal and vertical positions. In vertical installation, the spring housing and adjustment wheel must face upward.
Resideo recommends installing shut-off valves and placing the pressure reducing valve in an easily accessible location to facilitate reading, cleaning, and maintenance. It also recommends installing a filter before the pressure reducing valve to protect the mechanism from particles in the water.
After the valve, a straight pipe section equivalent to 5 times the nominal diameter should be left, in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions and EN 806-2.
The Resideo D05FS-3/4A combines a 3/4" connection, DN20, Kvs 3.5 m³/h, and pressure regulation from 1.5 to 6 bar to protect and stabilize potable water systems. Its balanced seat helps maintain a constant outlet pressure despite network fluctuations.
The dezincification-resistant brass body, replaceable cartridge, and integrated adjustment scale make both installation and maintenance easier. To ensure proper operation, the pressure and temperature limits and the installation recommendations specified by Resideo must be observed.
