The GoodWe GW5048‑EM is a 5 kW bidirectional hybrid inverter for residential and commercial photovoltaic systems, allowing you to manage energy from solar panels, batteries, and the grid with great flexibility. It is designed to balance household consumption with battery support, zero-export to the grid, and UPS backup capability in less than 10 ms.
Its backup battery operates at 48 V with continuous charge and discharge currents of up to 50 A (~2.3 kW), ideal for compatible lithium or lead-acid batteries; the device automatically adjusts levels according to the BMS. The maximum solar generation capacity supports up to 6.5 kW PV input with two MPPTs for efficient maximum power tracking.
In grid mode, it delivers up to 5 kW (22.8 A) with outstanding performance: a maximum efficiency of 97.6 % and a European efficiency of 97.0 %, reducing energy losses. Additionally, as a backup, it offers 2.3 kVA nominal, with peaks of 3.5 kVA for 10 s, and energy switching times under 10 ms.
Built to last, it features IP65 protection against dust and water, fanless design for greater reliability and quiet operation (<25 dB), plus integrated functions such as residual current monitoring, anti-islanding, reverse polarity, overload protection, and more.
It offers smart connectivity via Wi‑Fi, BMS and meter communication through RS485 or CAN, and management from the GoodWe SolarGo / SEMS app, making it easy to control, schedule, and optimize energy from anywhere.
It operates in extreme ranges (−25 °C to +60 °C) and up to 4,000 m altitude, making it suitable for harsh conditions. With compact dimensions of 347 × 432 × 175 mm and a weight of 17 kg, it is easy to wall-mount and comes with a 5-year warranty.
