The Resideo D05FS-11/4A pressure reducing valve is designed to protect potable water installations against excessive supply pressure. This model features 1 1/4" threaded connections, nominal diameter DN32 and a Kvs value of 7.3 m³/h, making it suitable for both domestic installations and commercial and industrial applications within its operating conditions.
Thanks to its balanced seat design, the valve keeps the outlet pressure stable even when significant fluctuations occur in the inlet pressure. It allows the downstream pressure to be adjusted between 1.5 and 6 bar and comes factory preset to 3 bar, making commissioning and pressure control in the installation easier.
The main function of the Resideo D05FS is to reduce a high or variable pressure from the supply network to a lower, controlled pressure in the installation. In this way, it helps protect pipes, valves, taps, appliances and other components from stress caused by excessive pressure.
The diaphragm and spring pressure compensation system allows the outlet pressure to remain practically independent of fluctuations in inlet pressure. When water is being used and downstream pressure drops, the balance between the diaphragm and the spring causes the valve to open until the set pressure is restored.
This pressure stabilisation also helps reduce water consumption and minimise flow noise in the installation, especially in networks where the supply pressure is higher than necessary.
The outlet pressure can be manually adjusted within a range of 1.5 to 6 bar. Adjustment is made using the wheel located at the top of the valve, while the graduated scale allows the selected value to be read directly.
The valve comes factory preset to 3 bar, a common pressure for many water supply installations. The value can later be modified to suit the specific needs of the system, always respecting the operating limits specified by Resideo.
The maximum permissible inlet pressure is 25 bar and the minimum pressure drop required for specified operation is 1 bar.
The balanced seat technology is one of the main features of the D05FS series. Inlet pressure does not directly affect the opening or closing of the valve, so supply network fluctuations have minimal influence on the adjusted downstream pressure.
This feature helps maintain more consistent conditions in the installation even when the available network pressure changes throughout the day.
The D05FS-11/4A reference corresponds to the DN32 version with 1 1/4" external threaded connection fittings at the inlet and outlet. The version identified by the letter A includes these fittings, making valve connection and removal easier during installation or maintenance work.
For this size, Resideo specifies a Kvs value of 7.3 m³/h, which defines the hydraulic flow capacity of the valve under the corresponding standard conditions.
The valve body is made of dezincification-resistant brass, a material especially suitable for components in permanent contact with potable water. The fittings on the A version are also made of brass.
The internal assembly integrates a high-quality synthetic material cartridge with an EPDM diaphragm, while the seals are also made of EPDM. The regulating spring is made of steel and remains separated from the potable water during operation.
Resideo states that the materials used comply with UBA requirements and that the assembly has ACS certification. The range also has DVGW certification.
The regulating cartridge can be completely replaced, a feature that simplifies maintenance operations and makes it possible to service the main internal components without having to replace the entire valve body.
This design facilitates the periodic maintenance required in water installations and allows the existing body and connections to be retained when only the internal elements need to be replaced.
The Resideo D05FS includes a connection for installing a pressure gauge, allowing direct checking of the regulated downstream pressure. The pressure gauge is not included with this reference and must be purchased separately when needed.
The integrated scale on the adjustment wheel makes initial setting easier, while the addition of a pressure gauge allows accurate verification of the actual operating pressure of the installation.
For potable water applications according to EN 1567, Resideo specifies a maximum medium temperature of 30 °C. The valve can operate at temperatures of up to 70 °C when the maximum pressure is limited to 10 bar, in accordance with the conditions indicated in the manufacturer's technical data sheet.
These limits must be taken into account when selecting the valve for cold water networks, commercial installations or applications with higher water temperatures.
The valve can be installed in both horizontal and vertical positions. When mounted vertically, Resideo specifies that the spring housing and adjustment wheel must face upwards.
The manufacturer recommends installing shut-off valves before and after the assembly and placing the pressure reducing valve in a location protected from frost and easily accessible for inspection, cleaning and maintenance.
It is also recommended to install a filter upstream of the pressure reducing valve to prevent particles in the installation from affecting the operation of the seat and internal cartridge.
To ensure proper operation, Resideo specifies the installation of a straight pipe section equivalent to 5 times the nominal diameter after the valve, in accordance with EN 806-2. For the DN32 model, the manufacturer also indicates a minimum wall distance of 60 mm from the pipe axis.
The valve must be installed respecting the flow direction indicated on the body and leaving enough space to access the adjustment wheel and the pressure gauge connection.
The Resideo D05FS-11/4A pressure reducing valve makes it possible to reduce and stabilise pressure in potable water networks using a compact, adjustable mechanical solution. Its 1 1/4" connection, DN32 diameter, Kvs capacity of 7.3 m³/h and adjustment range from 1.5 to 6 bar make it suitable for domestic, commercial and industrial installations that need protection against high or variable pressure.
Its balanced seat, replaceable internal cartridge, visible adjustment scale and pressure gauge preparation make both commissioning and subsequent control and maintenance of the installation easier.
