How does portable air conditioning work?

The operation of portable air conditioning is simple. The unit has slots that constantly extract hot air from the space where they are placed and cool it using a pressure pump, which then expels it back into the room to cool it down. While it is in operation, the machine expels the excess energy normally through other slots, just like what happens in split-type units that are installed on walls.

Types of portable air conditioners

Single tube or window: They have a single air intake and expel the output to the outside through a window kit.
Double tube: They have one air intake and another for the output of processed air.
Split type: It has an additional outdoor unit that is placed outside the home.

They are machines that cost approximately €200-300 but do not require installation or accessories for installation, as these are already included in the price of the unit.

The disadvantages are different, as technology improves, so do they. The main one is noise; being compact machines that carry out the entire cooling process, they tend to be noisier than a standard air conditioner. However, as I mentioned, this is constantly improving. The next disadvantage is aesthetic; these machines are small and compact but are usually placed in the center of rooms and must have the air extraction tubes connected to them, which are placed in the windows. And finally, consumption; not all consume the same amount, and it is important to pay attention to this before choosing one unit over another.
